It depends on three things: square footage, how much contour you want built in, and what surrounds the green (fringe, chipping zone, rock border, lighting). A small practice green costs a fraction of a large multi-hole layout. We price every green on site after walking the space with you, and the quote is the number, with no surprises at install.

Most of the greens we build run between 300 and 800 square feet. That is enough for two to four holes, a real break or two, and a fringe to chip from. Smaller greens work well for pure putting practice; larger ones are where chipping zones and multiple pin positions start to make sense.
A properly built one does. The surface is a nylon putting turf engineered for a true, consistent roll, and we set the speed during install by how the infill is brushed and packed. Ask for a club-fast green or a forgiving one; both are achievable and both stay that way.
Yes. Breaks and slopes are shaped into the compacted base before the turf goes down, so they are permanent and predictable. Multiple cups, a fringe collar, and a chipping or bunker area can all be designed in. This is the part of the consultation most people enjoy.
A typical backyard green is a two to four day job: excavation and base on the first day or two, surface and cups after the base has been compacted and checked, and finish work last. Larger or more contoured greens take longer.
That is exactly what it is built for. The base is 3 inches of excavation, a heavy geotextile layer, and compacted granite fines, so it drains instead of washing out. The turf is UV-stabilized and unbothered by salt air. A heavy rain runs straight through it.
